Director Tourism/Controller Department of Tourist Services Gilgit-Baltistan, Mr. Iqbal Hussain, paid an inspection visit to hotels in Naltar Valley. On his recent inspection visit to Naltar Valley, the Director of Tourism emphasized the urgent need for all unregistered hotels to complete their registration with the Directorate of Tourist Services (DTS) Gilgit-Baltistan and the Tourism Department. He instructed that the entire registration process must be finalized before the end of April 2025.
The inspection aimed to assess the readiness of hospitality services for the upcoming tourist season and ensure that all accommodations meet the required standards. During the visit, hotel owners assured the Director that they would initiate and expedite the documentation process, extending full cooperation with the Tourism Department to promote a positive image of the region.
The Tourism Department has also introduced a policy advising tourists—both domestic and international—to avoid staying in unregistered hotels. This measure is part of the department’s broader efforts to ensure tourist safety, maintain service quality, and regulate the hospitality sector in line with tourism development goals.
The registration of hotels is vital not only to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards but also to boost tourist confidence, enhance service delivery, and protect the reputation of Gilgit-Baltistan as a premier travel destination.
