Keris valley is located in District Ghanche, which is 70 km from Khaplu City and 33 km from Skardu City. It is known as the gateway to Ghanche. The famous pedestrian bridge named 'Door to Heaven' is located in this valley. The valley also hosts one of the oldest hydropower stations, the hundreds years’ oldest canal, the Astana of Hazrat Mir Mukhtar and Ali Mosavi, the confluence of the Indus and Shyok Rivers, and the House of Peer of Noorbakhshia. It is the last village of Ghanche before entering Skardu District, so the residents Keris often travel to Skardu for work and shopping instead of Khaplu. Keris is famous for its lush green fields and ancient/historic houses. Tourists receive a warm welcome from hospitable locals. The best time to visit is during the Cherry Blossom season or summer.
