A high-ranking committee, chaired by Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Assistant for Climate Change and Environmental Harmony, met in Skardu to discuss establishing a Mountaineering School in Baltistan. Comprising government officials, ministers, and experts, the committee aims to promote sustainable tourism and environmental awareness.
The Prime Minister’s Assistant emphasized the project's potential to provide professional training for youth, boost tourism, and create local employment. The committee explored strategies to engage the community, develop infrastructure, and collaborate with international mountaineering experts.
The proposed school seeks to attract international mountaineers, fostering economic development while preserving Baltistan's natural beauty. The committee agreed to expedite the project's implementation to enhance tourism. After the meeting, the Prime Minister’s Assistant visited the proposed site for the school.
