Jashne Azadi Polo Tournament 2025 (Civil Pool) Concludes in Gilgit with Great Success
The Jashne Azadi Polo Tournament (Civil Pool), organized by the Department of Tourism, Sports and Culture Gilgit-Baltistan, successfully concluded in Gilgit with outstanding public enthusiasm and highly professional event management. The smooth execution of the tournament was made possible through the collective efforts of security agencies, the district administration, polo associations, media representatives, and all supporting stakeholders.
Final Match & Results
The grand finale of the Tournament (Civil Pool) was held at the historic Shahi Polo Ground, where the teams of Chilas and Skardu competed in a thrilling contest. Team Chilas emerged victorious with a decisive 8–5 win over Team Skardu, securing the championship trophy for this year.
The final event was graced by Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan, Mr. Abrar Ahmed Mirza, as the Chief Guest, while Major General Imtiaz Hussain Gilani attended as the Guest of Honor.
Secretary Tourism, Culture & Sports GB, Mr. Zameer Abbas, presented departmental shields to both dignitaries in recognition of their presence and support.

Best Polo Player of the Tournament: Ifrad Gul
Best Horse Award: Given to the horse of Skardu’s polo player, Imtiaz Babu
Best Security Services: District Security Officer awarded a cash prize
Outstanding Security Facilitation: SDPO Mr. Murtaza presented with a departmental shield
Service Awards: Bomb Disposal Squad, Rescue 1122, and the Health Department honored with cash prizes for exemplary service
