The Department of Tourism and Culture, Gilgit-Baltistan, in collaboration with Colonel Mujib-ur-Rehman Shaheed Public School & College Gilgit and Halqa-e-Arbab-e-Zauq Gilgit, organized a grand and dignified Mushaira to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day.
The event was attended by a large number of students, teachers, literary figures, and members of civil society. Renowned poets from across Gilgit-Baltistan participated in the Mushaira and presented their poetry highlighting love for the homeland, patriotism, national unity, and the rich literary and cultural traditions of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Secretary Tourism, Sports & Culture, Gilgit-Baltistan Sardar Asad Haroon, was the chief guest at the event. In his address, the chief guest highlighted the significance of Independence Day and emphasized the important role of literature, poetry, and cultural activities in promoting patriotism, national awareness, and positive values among the younger generation.
He appreciated the organization of the Mushaira and reaffirmed the Department of Tourism and Culture’s commitment to promoting literary, cultural, and creative activities across Gilgit-Baltistan.
At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation were distributed among participating poets and students in recognition of their literary and cultural contributions and active participation.
The Principal of Colonel Mujib-ur-Rehman Shaheed Public School & College Gilgit, faculty members and staff, the Director Tourism & Culture Gilgit-Baltistan, and the representatives of Halqa-e-Arbab-e-Zauq Gilgit played a key role in making the event a success.
Speakers and participants appreciated the efforts of the organizers and termed the event an important step toward promoting literary and cultural activities, encouraging the creative potential of young people, and strengthening the spirit of national unity in Gilgit-Baltistan.
