Masood Khan Sets World Record by Walking 808 Kilometers from Peshawar to Skardu

SKARDU: Renowned Pakistani athlete Masood Khan successfully completed an extraordinary 808-kilometer journey on foot from Peshawar to Skardu in just nine days, setting a remarkable world record through his determination, endurance, and commitment. Upon his arrival in Skardu, Masood Khan received a grand welcome from the District Administration Skardu, Tourism, Sports & Culture Department Baltistan, and the youth of Baltistan. A large number of people gathered to celebrate the achievement of the young athlete and national hero. The reception ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Skardu Mr. Nisar Ahmad, Assistant Director Sports Baltistan Mr. Baqir Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Gamba Ms. Aneela, Assistant Commissioner Roundu Mr. Hussain Butt, Sports Officer Skardu Mr. Muhammad Baqir, Assistant Sports Officer Skardu Mr. Shakir, along with other officials and youth representatives from across Baltistan. Participants warmly welcomed Masood Khan by presenting flower garlands and showering flower petals as a tribute to his dedication, courage, and historic accomplishment. During the ceremony, Assistant Director Tourism, Sports & Culture Baltistan Mr. Baqir Hussain presented a commemorative shield on behalf of the Secretary Tourism, Sports & Culture Gilgit-Baltistan and Director Sports GB. Speakers at the event praised Masood Khan’s hard work, determination, resilience, and passion, congratulating him on achieving a milestone that has made the entire nation proud. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Masood Khan expressed his gratitude to the people of Baltistan, the District Administration Skardu, and the Tourism, Sports & Culture Department Baltistan for their warm reception and support.
