Two-day Rakaposhi Cricket Cup Tournament came to an end at the Natural Cricket Stadium in Nagar.

At an altitude of 8,400 feet above sea level, the 2-day cricket tournament concluded at the Natural Cricket Stadium in Pisan Nagar on 4th October, 2023. The event was organized by Tourism, Sports and Culture Department Gilgit-Baltistan through the District Administration Nagar on the directives of the Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan, Mr. Mahiuddin  Wani.The fundamental purpose of the event was to promote tourism in the district, as well as to promote the traditions and culture of the region, foster inter-district, and interfaith harmony, and spread the message of peace.

Alongside cricket tournament, the event featured colorful stalls of local products. Shamanism and cultural dance were also performed to the local tunes by the locals of Nagar during the colorful event. The Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Youth Affairs, Madam Dilshad Banu graced the closing ceremony as Chief Guest while Secretary Interior & Jail Khanajat, Captain (Retired) Syed Ali Asghar and Secretary Information, Fida Hussain also attended the closing ceremony.

Districtc Teams from Diamer, Hunza and Nagar participated in this 2-day event. Final Match was played between the cricket teams of District Hunza and Nagar and after an interesting match the Hunza Leopards secured the match in their favor with a lead of 61 runs. At the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest, Secretaries and other govt high officials  distributed shields and medals to the winner and runner-up teams. 

The Secretary Tourism, Sports & Culture Gilgit-Baltistan, Mr. Asifullah Khan appreciated the efforts of DC Nagar Mr. Waqas Johar and Assistant Director Nagar Mr. Salman Paras for the successful conducting of the event.
