Attar Lake

Skardu Valley

Attar Lake, a beautiful natural water reservoir that lies at an altitude of around 4000 meters above the sea level. The Lake is surrounded by beautiful wild flowers and snow- capped peaks.

Attar Lake is about 4 km long magnificent lake amid the high mountains of Hindukush between Darkot and Ishkoman Valleys. In 1933 initially explored by the famous British Military traveller Francis Schomberg the author of “Between the Oxus and the Indus”. He describes the view towards Ishkoman as an immense amphitheatre, surrounded by a circle of snowy peaks and hanging glaciers.
