The Fact-Finding Inquiry Committee, formed on the orders of Mr. Asifullah Khan Secretary Tourism Gilgit-Baltistan, has issued the Final Report after examining the facts about the accidental death of a high-altitude porter Mr. Muhammad Hassan on K-2 “the second highest mountain in the world”. The committee was Chaired by Mr. Iqbal Hussain Director Archeology Department Gilgit-Baltistan, other members of the committee included Deputy Director of Tourism Department Mr. Rahat Karim Baig, Assistant Commissioner Shagar Mr. Hamza Murad Rana, Vice President of Alpine Club of Pakistan Mr. Rahmatullah, famous mountaineer and Gilgit Baltistan Association Mr. Sarbaz Khan, a member of Tour Operators, was involved. The committee has issued a comprehensive report about the accident in light of all the evidence and circumstances and after recording the statements of the eyewitnesses present at the scene.
