Nagar valley is spread in a vast region, however the main village of Nagar district are Bar valley Chalt, Sikandarabad, Chalt, Ghulmit, Minapin and Hoper valley. The terrain is offer lush green valleys and couple of forest range and farm mountains for trekers and expedition i.e Rakaposhi, Diran Peak and Golden Peak . Brushisky and Shina are spoken largely but English and Urdu are widely use for communication visitor. The Nagar valley has countless hidden and apparent treasure of precious gems like Rubby, Topas, Acquamrine, Emerald, Quartz etc.
Rakaposhi View Point:
Rakaposhi is a mountain in the Karakoram mountain range in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan It is situated in the middle of Nagar Valley Nagar District and Danyore and Bagrote valley approximately 100 km (62 mi) north of the capital city Gilgit of the semi-autonomous Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Rakaposhi means “Snow Covered” in the local language. Rakaposhi is also known as Dumani (“Mother of Mist” or “Mother of Clouds”). It is ranked 27th highest in the world.
The first successful recorded ascent by non-natives was in 1958 by Mike Banks and Tom Patey, members of a British-Pakistani expedition, via the Southwest Spur/Ridge route.Both of them suffered minor frostbite during the ascent to the summit on June 25. Another climber slipped and fell on the descent and died during the night.
Chaprote is one of the earliest villages in the Hunza–Nagar District in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. It is a scenic area, in which the literacy rate is more than 80%.
Many miles of terraced fields and fruit orchards mark Chaprote, the earlier capital of Nagar Valley. It offers a panoramic view of the Rakaposhi and other peaks surrounding Nagar Valley. It is about 70 kilometres (43 mi) from the city of Gilgit and it takes a van about 1 hour to cover the distance.
Chaprote is the center of a form of shamanism called “Danyalism”
